At the Smith Haven Mall on January 1st, a woman falsely reported bomb and gun threats.
Officers say it all went down on Sunday at 4 o’clock when they got a text message reporting a bomb threat at the Lake Grove mall.
The same number also sent another text message claiming a female gunman was loose in the shopping centre.
After conducting a thorough investigation of the shopping centre, police found no signs of danger.
The Amityville, New York, resident Tasia Morales, 28, was detained for her role in spreading the rumours.
She works as a sales associate for a mall retailer.
Now Morales is facing charges for making up the whole affair. Three or four more incidents using texts to 911, police think Morales may be connected to.

On supervised release, Morales is free from prison. As a result of the full stay-away order of protection that has been issued against her, she is prohibited from returning to the shopping centre.
On January 23, she must appear in court again.
