Two people with knowledge of the situation said that Katrina Pierson, a former Trump campaign spokesperson who assisted in the planning of the Ellipse demonstration on January 6, has answered questions from the Capitol riot panel.
Pierson is well-versed in the events leading up to the attack. Among the 11 people who helped organize the Ellipse event, the committee obtained a subpoena from her at the end of September 2021 and demanded documents and evidence from her. According to one of the sources, she met with the committee a few weeks after the subpoena was issued.
Who is Katrina Pierson?
Born on July 20, 1976, Katrina Pierson (née Shaddix) is an American activist and public relations professional. She was Donald Trump’s go-to spokesman during his presidential campaign in 2016.
When Pierson was a child, he was raised in Kansas by his black father and white mother. After giving birth to her when she was 15, her mother decided to keep her instead of placing her for adoption.
She was raised by her lone mother in poverty as a child. Kilgore College awarded Pierson an associate of science degree. She graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in biology.
Prior to joining the Trump Campaign, Pierson Worked as A Practice Administrator for The Baylor Health Care System from July 2009 to August 2011, and As the Head of Corporate Relations for ASG Software Solutions from May 2011 to December 2012.
