Timothy Olyphant (born May 20, 1968) is an actor from the United States. He had his off-Broadway debut in 1995 in The Monogamist, for which he earned a Theatre World Award, and then went on to star in David Sedaris’ The Santaland Diaries in 1996. He subsequently moved on to film, where he was frequently featured in supporting evil roles in the early years of his career, including Scream 2 (1997), Go (1999), A Man Apart (2003), Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), and The Girl Next Door (2004).
With his performance of Sheriff Seth Bullock in HBO’s western Deadwood (2004–2006), he gained a broader audience, and he later reprised the character in Deadwood: The Movie (2019). Timothy David Olyphant was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on May 20, 1968. Timothy relocated to Modesto, California, with his two brothers when he was two years old. Timothy’s father was a vice president of Gallo Winery, and he is a descendant of New York’s prominent Vanderbilt dynasty.
During his high school years, Olyphant embraced drawing and other types of art but avoided performing. After graduating from high school, he became a competitive swimmer and was recruited by the University of Southern California.
