Man Killed in Apple Store Crash Was Just Engaged to 12-year Girlfriend.

The guy who died this week when an SUV slammed into an Apple store in Massachusetts had been with the lady he was about to marry for more than a decade.

According to a news statement from Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz, 65-year-old Kevin Bradley of Wayne, New Jersey, passed away on Monday after a 2019 Toyota 4Runner smashed through the glass window of the Derby Street Shops in Hingham.

At least 19 people were hurt in the accident that was driven by 53-year-old Bradley Rein. The district attorney claimed the Hingham man informed police that his foot became stuck on the gas pedal.

In connection with the incident, Rein was arrested and jailed on $100,000 bail on charges of reckless homicide and careless operation of a motor vehicle. Cruz further mentioned that Rein entered a not-guilty plea to the allegations.

The person murdered on Monday was “a professional who was an onsite supporting recent development at the store,” according to a prior statement from an Apple spokeswoman to PEOPLE.

An Apple representative expressed their “devastation” over the horrific death and “shocking events” that took place at Apple Derby Street today.

According to a GoFundMe page set up by Kori Robino, the sister-in-law of Bradley’s fiancee’s daughter, Kathy McGrogan was the woman he was engaged to. Bradley and McGrogan had been together for 12 years.

According to NBC Boston, the New Jersey man had just gotten engaged the day before the tragedy.

However, Robino did not immediately react to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Bradley’s daughter-in-law described him to NBC Boston as “a fantastic man who took care of his family.”

According to the police report received by the Boston Globe, Bradley was working for GMS Construction at the time of the collision. One of the witnesses informed authorities that they and their coworker had been removing a barrier from the window right before the crash occurred.

The police claimed in their investigation, “He was suddenly thrown about and heard what he thought sounded like an explosion, followed by a huge shatter,” according to the paper. Once inside, he discovered his coworker Bradley “obviously deceased on the floor” and the automobile parked in the store’s rear parking lot.

From what we can gather from the GoFundMe page, Bradley shared a home with his fiancee, her daughter Kelly, and their two grandchildren, AJ, 5, and Bella, 4. As of Thursday morning, the fundraising page had already raked in over $5,400.

To aid with funeral arrangements and everyday expenditures until the specifics and future steps are cleared out, Robino wrote on the GoFundMe page, “With this being a holiday week and Christmas rapidly approaching, we are asking for any help you can provide.”

It was determined by the police that Rein had not been drinking or using drugs prior to the accident.

Alison King, his attorney, said on Tuesday in court, “Although the results of this mishap were horrifying,… It really was as simple as that.
