Who Is Brandi Carlile: Singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile Has Revealed the News of Her Engagement!

Brandi Carlile, Lucinda Williams, Allison Russell, the Indigo Girls, Chris Isaak, and Lukas Nelson will all be performing at the 2023 Americana Honors & Awards ceremony on September 14 at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.

Performers who are nominated for annual awards or receive lifetime achievement distinctions make up the bulk of the list. Adia Victoria, the McCrary Sisters, James McMurtry, Sierra Farrell, the War and Treaty, Morgan Wade, Neal Francis, and Phosphorescent are among the many performers scheduled.

Buddy Miller, who has led the band for the awards show for many years running, will return with a band featuring the likes of the McCrary Sisters, Don Was, Larry Campbell, Brady Blade, Jen Gunderman, Jim Hoke, Rob Burger, and Lorenzo Molina.

 Brandi Marie Carlile, (born June 1, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter and record producer whose work draws from a wide range of musical styles. Including one for The Firewatcher’s Daughter (2015), six for, By the Way, I Forgive You (2018), three for her work as producer and songwriter on Tanya Tucker’s album While I’m Livin’ (2019), and three for “Right on Time” from In These Silent Days (2021), Carlile has released seven studio albums and been nominated for eighteen Grammy Awards as of 2021. By the way, I forgive you was nominated for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year, making her the most nominated female artist at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards (“The Joke”). Carlile, Amanda Shires, Maren Morris, and Natalie Hemby are the Highwomen, an all-female quartet that was created in 2019.

Career and Their Early Life

Carlile’s birthday is June 1 and he was born in the little hamlet of Ravensdale, Washington, located about 30 miles outside of Seattle. Carlile, her brother Jay, and sister Tiffany spent their childhood in the woods, where they played music and constructed forts. Carlile almost died from bacterial meningitis when she was four years old. Several times her heart stopped beating completely, and she fell into a coma. Carlile spent her formative years in southern King County towns including Sumner, Black Diamond, Maple Valley, Auburn, and briefly West Seattle.

In an interview in November of 2002, Carlile came out as a lesbian. “I don’t have to have a lot of formality about it… there were individuals before me who blazed the path,” she told the Los Angeles Times later. She has been dating Catherine Shepherd since 2009 when the couple announced their engagement in June 2012. They tied the knot on September 15th, 2012, in Wareham, Massachusetts. There are two little girls in the family. Shepherd has been the head of Carlile’s foundation since 2012.
