Early Life
Share was born into a Lutheran family with Dutch background in Longmont, Colorado.
She grew up on a cattle ranch in the Colorado countryside not far from Boulder (see note).
Her father is a construction worker and her mother is a secretary. Schaal attended Skyline High School where she graduated in 1996. Â Her older brother’s name is David, and he’s three years older than her.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University after studying for a year at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Â It wasn’t until the year 2000 that she uprooted her life and headed to the Big Apple to try her hand at stand-up comedy. The piece “The Ten Funniest New Yorkers You’ve Never Heard of” gave her her first big break in 2005.
Personal Life
Since 2012, Schaal has been married to Rich Blomquist. Schaal welcomed a baby, Ruby, on February 11, 2018, and she shared the news on Instagram. During a 2017 charity broadcast hosted by Ethan Klein, Schaal disclosed that she had lost at least two liters of blood due to an ectopic pregnancy and a torn fallopian tube during an indeterminate recording session for Gravity Falls, prompting emergency surgery.
