Rian Johnson, the director of Knives Out, has stated in a public statement that the character Benoit Blanc, who is portrayed by Daniel Craig, is “obviously” gay. During a press conference that took place at the London Film Festival, the director was questioned about the possibility of Blanc being gay.
This came about as a result of a scene in the upcoming Glass Onion sequel, which gave the impression that the main character was cohabitating with another man. Johnson responded, “It is abundantly clear that he is.”
He continued by saying, “And there’s nobody in the world I can imagine in bringing me more joy for Benoit Blanc to be with,” referring to the actor who made a cameo appearance as Blanc’s partner. The actor’s name has not been revealed.

“I’m not going to give anything away, but who among us wouldn’t want to live with that person?” A comment was made by Craig. Benoit Blanc makes a return appearance in Glass Onion, in which he is tasked with solving a murder mystery on a private Greek island that is owned by a tech billionaire named Miles Bron, who is portrayed by Edward Norton.
