Reba Reunion: Reba Mc Entire and Melissa Peterman Are Set to Star in A New Lifetime Movie The Hemmer!

When Reba McEntire’s fittingly titled sitcom ended 15 years ago, it was hard to believe. In spite of streaming repetitions and TikTok stardom, there are few things that TV fans like more than seeing their former co-stars again on the small screen.

For McEntire, Melissa Peterman will join her for a new Lifetime movie, and we’ve learned that this is absolutely the case! And not a single one from the network’s star-studded holiday collection.

The Forthcoming Lifetime Drama the Hammer.

Reunited for the forthcoming Lifetime drama The Hammer, Reba McEntire, and Melissa Peterman will switch roles from reluctant friends to sisters, reports TVLine. McEntire will play the outspoken “appointed Judge of the 5th District of Nevada,” Kim Wheeler, in the film based on the real-life circuit judge Kim Wanker, who goes by the moniker “Kim Wanker.” In addition, she’ll serve as an executive producer.

Kim’s sister Kris, a brothel owner who becomes a key suspect in the death of a former judge, will be played by Peterman. This is a departure from the typical sitcom tone that Reba fans are used to, which should make it more interesting than having them appear together in a multi-camera comedy. Rex Linn, who has recently appeared in Young Sheldon and Better Call Saul, and Reba McEntire’s real-life lover Kay Shioma Metchie (from Totally Normal) round out the cast of The Hammer. Since the film hasn’t yet begun production, it’s not clear when its premiere date will be.

Reba Was Aired Between 2001 and 2007.

Six seasons and nearly 120 episodes of Reba were aired between 2001 and 2007. It aired on The WB for most of its existence before moving to The CW after the WB and UPN merger. Melissa Peterman and Reba McEntire have remained friends since the sitcom ended. For a humorous social distancing skit that McEntire uploaded to her social media during the first COVID lockdown in April 2020, the two teamed up During a difficult moment, they brought a smile to the faces of their followers by reviving their beloved characters.

For McEntire, 2022 is shaping up to be a busy year, as she is one of many country singers who have put their acting abilities to the test. Earlier this year, she released My Chains Are Gone, a CD and DVD containing some of the most popular hymns of all time. Her tour dates have yet to be announced, but that’s okay because she will be busy on television. Big Sky’s Sunny Brick, a new series regular role for McEntire, has been cast alongside her role as The Hammer. Since 2020, she and her husband have appeared in CBS’ Young Sheldon.
