There is still time for eligible New Jersey residents to collect one-time payouts ranging from $450 to $1,500. The Affordable NJ Communities for Homeowners & Renters (ANCHOR) programme provides cash to qualified homeowners and tenants. The New Jersey state legislature and Governor Phil Murphy developed the programme. The purpose of the programme is to alleviate citizens’ property tax-related financial burdens. The programme is to provide $1,500 to over 1,2 million homeowners and $450 to over 900,000 renters. (source)
Those with an annual income of less than $150,000 will receive $1,500, while those with an annual income between $150,000 and $250,000 will receive $1,000. Les locataires with an annual income of $150,000 or less are eligible for a $450 stipend. The 2019 income is used for eligibility determination.
Homeowners can apply online, by mail, or by phone at (877) 658-2972; however, they will require an ANCHOR ID and PIN. Homeowners without a PIN can obtain one using New Jersey’s online inquiry system. Online applications from renters do not require an ANCHOR ID or PIN.
