Swing and a Miss: a Misspelt Sign for Jackie Robinson Parkway is Installed

GLENDALE, Queens (WABC) – GLENDALE, Queens In Queens, a sign directing drivers to the Jackie Robinson Parkway was installed with an incorrect spelling.

The sign was put up on Sunday night in Queens at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Forest Park Drive, however, it is incorrectly spelling the name “Jackie.”

According to the Department of Transportation, the sign will be repaired as soon as possible.

In 1947, Jackie Robinson was the first person of color to break the color barrier in baseball. In 1962, the baseball great who played for the Brooklyn Dodgers was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
