Over the course of a brutal weekend in New York City, two individuals were shot and killed, and four others were wounded, according to authorities.
Police said that two men were shot and killed in the Bronx; the most recent victim was a 25-year-old named Achilles Baskin who was discovered dead on the sidewalk about lunchtime.
Sunday about 1:30 p.m., on the corner of E. 183rd Street and Bathgate Avenue, Baskin was brutally attacked, according to the police. A team of medics rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, but it was too late.

According to police sources, an individual of interest was arrested on the spot.
During an argument in the lobby of his Sheridan Avenue, near Grand Concourse, an apartment building at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, the other man, a 29-year-old who has not been publicly identified, was shot multiple times in the chest and head, according to police.
After being rushed to Lincoln Hospital, he was pronounced dead there. Police said the shooter drove off in a black vehicle.
In none of the two fatal shootings was a clear motive found at first.
The 22-year-old woman and the 35-year-old guy were shot on Beach 100th Street in Rockaway Beach at around 4 a.m. on Sunday.
Gunfire, police say, followed an argument that began in a home and continued into the street. The reason for the fight was mysterious.

Both of the victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital, where their conditions are currently listed as stable. There were four spent bullet casings discovered.
Two other victims were shot later that evening in South Jamaica, Queens.
A woman, 31, and a male, 28, were both shot in the legs outside the Baisley Park Apartments on Guy R Brewer Boulevard at around 6 o’clock, according to the police.
Both were sent to Jamaica Hospital, where they are now being treated. No one has been taken into custody.
Two men were stabbed in a separate brawl at about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday at Parade Place and Caton Avenue in Brooklyn, police said.
According to the police, a man in his 30s is in severe condition after being stabbed in the chest. They rushed him to Maimonides Medical Center.
A male, 35 years old, was also stabbed but was listed in stable condition at Kings County Hospital.
A man in a white and black jacket and a white face mask were the suspect’s only identifying features. After that, he ran away.
