Michelle Obama’s new book, “The Light We Carry,” will be released in the fall, in which she reflects on her experiences and offers advice for coping with a more stressful world.
Becoming” has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide since its release in 2018, outselling any other memoir by a former first lady or modern president, including her husband, ex-President Barack Obama.

About four years after “Becoming,” Crown will release the 336-page book on Nov. 15, and the first printing of 2.75 million copies has been announced for the United States and Canada. Additional rights deals are expected for “The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times,” which will be released simultaneously in 14 languages and 27 countries.

Earlier this week, Penguin Random House announced that it would be renaming an annual writing award for public high school students in her honor, the $10,000 Michelle Obama Award for Memoir. Anti-lynching legislation is praised by Michelle Obama and other African-American leaders. Some argue that more progress is required.
