Michelle Branch Breakup? When Did Singer Michelle Branch Announce Their Split?

This breakup was a mess. Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney separated in August 2022, after three years of marriage, but they may get back together. “To say that I am absolutely devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family,” the “Everywhere” singer said in a statement to Us Weekly after the news broke. The floor has been yanked out from under me, and now I must devise a plan of action.

Please respect my need for silence and gentleness with my young children. However, Branch had been arrested for domestic assault in the couple’s hometown of Nashville only hours before the breakup was announced. Following her arrest, the “Goodbye to You” singer posted a $1,000 bond and was released until her upcoming court date in November 2022.

Their Breakup

After Michelle Branch filed for divorce from her husband, Patrick Carney of the Black Keys, in August, the couple has chosen to try to fix their marriage. On Thursday’s episode of “Tamron Hall,” the 39-year-old “Everywhere” singer spoke up about the events leading up to her divorce filing, including allegations of Carney’s infidelity and her arrest on August 11 for punching her spouse.

Now that my husband and I are in counseling, I can only wish we had done so six months earlier. Branch expressed regret that support and communication weren’t sought out sooner. “It has changed my life so much in such a short period.” She went on to say that it was “very awful” that she had an argument with Carney, 42, that night. Branch was arrested for assault in the second degree and released after posting $1,000 bail. Court records show that her 12-hour hold was reduced so that she could breastfeed her baby.

Their Relationship

According to the affidavit, when arrested, Branch informed police from the Metro Nashville Police Department that she and Carney were “having marital troubles” and that she struck Carney in the face once or twice during an altercation. As she pointed out, the stories of her abusing her spouse are “not allegations.” And, “I don’t condone violence,” she said. Yes, I smacked my hubby. Definitely not a high point in my life.

Only seven months have passed since I gave birth. Every parent in the room can relate to this, whether it’s sleeplessness, life stress, marital stress, or professional stress. The blocks were arranged in such a way that I didn’t have time to think about what I was doing, and we’d been out the night before celebrating a birthday, so I’d had a few drinks. As a result, I remember thinking, “Is this really happening?”

The singer broke up with Carney and USA TODAY on the same day police detained Branch. In April 2019, the “Breathe” vocalist tied the knot with the rock band’s drummer. They have two children together, the youngest of whom is a newborn.

It would be an understatement to say that I and my loved ones are utterly crushed by this news. “The rug has been completely pulled out from under me, and I must find out how to move on,” Branch told USA TODAY in a statement on August 11. “Please be respectful and quiet around my young children.”

How Does Michelle Feel About the Breakup?

Michelle Branch breakupDue release in September 2022, Branch’s new album, “The Trouble With Fever,” addresses her public feud with the “Lonely Boy” musician. Before they broke up, she and Carney recorded the album in their home studio.

During an interview with Billboard published in September 2022, the “Are You Happy Now?” musician referred to his or her preoccupation with the record and tour as “the best distraction ever.” In addition, she said, “I think if I didn’t have this album coming out, I would definitely be in bed crying all day.”

Kacey Musgraves, who will be alone again after her 2020 divorce from Ruston Kelly, has been acknowledged by Branch as the inspiration behind her decision to prioritize her career.

“I called her as it was all unfolding, and I was like, ‘F—k, Kacey, what should I do?'” The Arizonan woman told Newsweek, “She was like, “I don’t know about you, but I do better when I’m busy.” “Oh my God, you’re so right,’ I exclaimed. You know, I really need to buckle down and get this tour going. I can’t afford the time to wallow in self-pity because of my little children.
