DC NEWS NOW — WASHINGTON On Monday, a father and a boy were shot in the Southeast neighborhood, and police have been searching for the perpetrator or perpetrators ever since.

Shots were fired at 23rd Street and Alabama Avenue SE, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. When the guy and the boy were hit, they went to the hospital. It was the hope of MPD that both would recover from their wounds.

DC’s top cop describes gun violence as an “epidemic” that “is taking life from our city” and begs for community involvement with the Metropolitan Police Department.
At approximately 5 o’clock in the evening, police learned of the shooting. At 5:20 p.m., investigators still did not have a clear description of the shooter(s).
This incident occurred just hours after another gunshot in the Southeast in which a young man was wounded.
