After being accused of sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2015, Bill Cosby was found guilty in the first high-profile trial of the #MeToo movement in 2018. After being convicted and given a sentence of 3–10 years in prison, his conviction was reversed by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 2021 on the grounds that his due process rights had been violated.

Then, in June of this year, a civil lawsuit launched against Cosby by Judy Huth, who claimed he had sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager at the Playboy Mansion in 1975, resulted in a finding of liability for Cosby by a jury in Los Angeles.
