Strange Explosions Shake South Jersey Once More

The Navy is looking into whether or not aircraft carrier training in Maryland was the source of odd noises in South Jersey.

The thunderous booms and rattling windows that occurred on Monday represented the second big disturbance that has occurred in the past two weeks.

According to a story from the Daily Voice, on November 22, inhabitants of Brigantine were concerned about a noise that resembled an explosion. There was never any success in locating the origin of that noise.

On Monday, December 5, the Naval Air Station Patuxent River, which is located in southern Maryland, was expected to carry out “noise generating” aircraft carrier training from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Naval District Washington Public Affairs Office announced on Tuesday, December 6 that the Navy would be conducting an inquiry to determine whether or not its aircraft were responsible for the noise on Monday.

According to the most recent noise alert that was published on the Naval Air station’s Facebook page, the most recent training is scheduled to last through Thursday, December 8.
