The majority of Tupac’s songs address current socioeconomic concerns afflicting inner-city neighborhoods, and he was regarded as an anti-inequality campaigner.

Who Killed Tupac?

There is yet to be a resolution as to who murdered Tupac.

Tupac was 25 years old when he was killed in a drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996. Tupac’s automobile came to a stand at a red light on East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane around 11:15 p.m., just when the incident happened.

Four.40 caliber shots fired from a Glock pistol struck Tupac twice in the chest, once in the arm, and once in the thigh. He died six days later in the hospital from his wounds and torture.

The perpetrator of this shooting was never identified. Sgt. Kevin Manning, who oversaw the investigation, told Las Vegas Sun investigative journalist Cathy Scott a year later that Tupac’s death “may never be solved.”

He said that the investigation could not provide a good result since there were no credible clues and witnesses at the time of the occurrence were unwilling to speak about it, therefore the investigation was halted.

Other stories of Tupac’s death began to emerge. Chuck Philips, a Los Angeles reporter, released a two-part article titled “Who Killed Tupac Shakur?” in 2002.

As a result of the year-long research. “The shooting was carried out by the Southside Crips, a Compton gang, in reprisal for Shakur’s beating of one of their members just hours before the shooting,” Philips writes.

Orlando Anderson, the person who had accosted Shakur, fired the deadly shots. Police in Las Vegas considered Anderson a suspect, although he was only interrogated once. Anderson was slain nearly two years later in a separate gang killing.

Other rappers cited in Philips’ account were The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac’s opponent at the time, and other New York City criminals.

Philips then published a second post in which he criticized the Las Vegas police for failing to do the appropriate investigations into Tupac’s death.

According to his report, Las Vegas police made the error of ignoring the altercation in the M.G.M. Grand lobby where Shakur reportedly beat up Anderson just hours before the massacre.

They also neglected to contact one of Shakur’s squad members who observed the shooting and assured Las Vegas police that he would be able to identify one or more of the perpetrators and was eager to do so but was slain soon before his interview.

Finally, they ignored a tip from an eyewitness regarding a white Cadillac that resembled the one from which the attackers fired their fatal shots and left.
