“Conan Lee Gray” is an American singer-songwriter who was born on December 5th, 1998 At the age of 15, he began uploading videos to YouTube, including vlogs and covers of songs he’d grown up listening to. With Republic Records, Gray released his first EP Sunset Season in 2018. (2018).
His debut studio album Kid Krow (2020) debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200, making it the biggest US new artist debut of the year, helped by the commercially successful singles “Maniac” and “Heather.” His second studio album, Superache (2022), received critical acclaim and debuted in the top ten in the United States.

To a father of Irish descent and a Japanese mother, Conan Lee Gray was born on Dec. 5, 1998, in Lemon Grove, California.
Due to his grandfather’s health issues, his family had to relocate to Hiroshima, Japan when he was a baby. The family returned to California after a two-year stay in New York. In the past, Gray was able to speak fluent Japanese, but he has since lost his ability.
Gray was just three years old when his parents divorced. He talks about his childhood memories of his parent’s divorce in a video called “Draw My Life.” Gray moved twelve times as a child because his father was in the military, and he moved three times in the sixth grade alone.
Gray endured a lot of bullying in elementary school. He was once one of only five Asian students in his entire elementary school. Georgetown, Texas was where Gray spent the majority of his teenage years after moving to the city as an infant.
Much of Gray’s art and music was influenced by his upbringing in rural central Texas. In September 2017, he moved to Los Angeles, California, after being accepted to UCLA.
