A continuation of Kurt Sutter’s Sons of Anarchy universe, Mayans MC has been a hit on FX for several seasons, and the show’s most recent season even featured Kim Coates’ return as the gorgeous Tig Trager. A lot of fans loved Charlie Hunnam’s portrayal of macho protagonist Jax Teller, but they feel like the series died with him.
Fans of S.O.A. have pretty much given up hope of seeing Hunnam’s Jax return in any significant capacity at this time, and even a cameo appearance by the Mayans isn’t seen as all that likely. However, the actor has just shared some major news that makes it seem likely that the former SAMCRO president would return in the future.
Who Is Charlie Hunnam?
Born in England on April 10, 1980, Charles Matthew Hunnam has a /him/ pronunciation. He received two nominations for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor for his performance as Jackson “Jax” Teller on the FX series Sons of Anarchy (2008–2014). Hunnam also portrayed the title role in Nicholas Nickleby (2002), Pete Dunham in Green Street (2005), Raleigh Becket in Pacific Rim (2013),
Alan McMichael in Crimson Peak (2015), Percy Fawcett in The Lost City of Z (2016), the title role in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017), William “Ironhead” Miller in Triple Frontier, Raymond Smith in The Gentlemen (both in 2019), and Detective Charlie Waldo in Last Looks (2022). (2022).
Charles Matthew Hunnam was born on April 10, 1980, in Newcastle upon Tyne to Jane Bell (a former ballet dancer and current business entrepreneur) and William Hunnam. His artistic ancestry includes one of his grandmothers. His mother, a single parent, “did a really good job,” he has remarked. His older brother’s name is William, while his younger half-brothers’ names are Oliver and Christian.
When he was 12 years old, the family relocated to Melmerby, Cumbria, since his mother had remarried. Since he played rugby and got into fights at school when he was younger, he was expelled from Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Penrith, Cumbria, and had to do his schoolwork and exams at home.
After that, he pursued a degree in film theory and film history with a minor in performing arts at the Cumbria College of Art and Design in Carlisle (now part of the University of Cumbria), with the intent of one day writing and directing his own films.
At the age of 17, Hunnam was spotted by chance on Christmas Eve when visiting a local JD Sports store with his brother to browse the shoe selection. A production manager for the Byker Grove teen drama in Newcastle approached Hunnam, and he was eventually cast in his debut role as Jason in three episodes.
He also tried out the modeling industry for a while, appearing in a photo shoot for Kangol Caps before deciding it wasn’t for him. At the age of 18, Hunnam landed his first major role in Russell T. Davies‘ Channel 4 drama Queer as Folk, playing Nathan Maloney, a 15-year-old schoolboy. He later emigrated to the United States and appeared as Daz in the 1999 film Whatever Happened to Harold Smith?
Actress Katharine Towne, daughter of Julie Payne and filmmaker Robert Towne, and Hunnam first crossed paths in 1999 at an audition for the CW series Dawson’s Creek. They started dating for three weeks before getting married in Sin City; they split up in 2002. The following models and actresses joined his dating history:
Sophie Dahl, Stella Parker, and Georgina Townsley. Together with the artist Morgana McNelis, they’ve been together since 2005. Hunnam is dyslexic and has a severe aversion to any form of filth. He began Brazilian jiu-jitsu training with Rigan Machado in 2016, and he recently earned his blue belt in the art this past October.
What on Earth Could This Be, Though?
What on Earth could this be, though? Hunnam’s choice of the word “infancy” raises the question of whether he meant to imply that Jax will still be a baby for the duration of this project. A new take on Kurt Sutter’s proposed First 9 prequel, or something else entirely? Though the prospect of a Sons of Anarchy TV show has me giddy with anticipation.
it’s possible that the reference is actually to a video game, podcast, or something else. In spite of the fact that Katey Sagal reprised her role as Gemma Teller on the premiere season of Mayans M.C., the show has no plans to introduce Jax. However, Jax is not treated well in the spinoff, and the phrase “Fuck Jax Teller” is even out into the world.
