Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira to Appear at Comic-Con 2022: ‘Walking Dead’ Spin-Off Announced!

Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira made a surprise visit to Hall H after the Walking Dead panel to preview the last episodes of the show’s final season on AMC.

Before leaving the zombie franchise, Lincoln, who played Rick Grimes from the start, played the character for nine seasons. According to reports, he might reprise his role in a trilogy of Walking Dead films following his departure in 2018.

The Walking Dead Spin-Off Was Also Updated.

No official statement or activity on the projects has been made in four years since his character was rescued by a chopper and seemingly vanished. After Lincoln and Gurira announced at Comic-Con 2022 that the next chapter of their Walking Dead story would be a six-episode limited series centered on Rick and Michonne, everything changed.

EP The Isle of the Walking Dead spin-off was also updated by Scott Gimple, who announced several new cast members. Ginny is played by Mahina Napoleon, “The Croat” is played by Zeljko Ivanek, Tommaso is played by Jonathan Higginbotham, and Amaia is played by Karina Ortiz. Lauren Cohen, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Gaius Charles have already been announced for the role.

The final eight episodes of The Walking Dead will air on AMC on Oct. 2, concluding the show’s 11-season run. On top of all that, a brand new trailer showed off what’s to come in the final chapter of this popular zombie series.

As Chris Hardwick presided over a panel discussion with showrunner Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero and the cast, including Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, and Josh McDermitt, all appeared in person to discuss the next episodes of The Walking Dead.

For those of you who missed the event because of the filming of Isle of the Walking Dead, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Lauren Cohen have vowed to attend next year!
