It’s been over a year since the initial season of The Bad Batch premiered on Disney+ in May 2021. You may be wondering if and when the second season of ‘The Bad Batch’ will be available on Disney+. Unfortunately, it appears that the series will be released later than anticipated, but read on for everything we know thus far!
Release Date for ‘The Bad Batch’ Season 2:
Back in June, Disney officially confirmed that season 2 of ‘The Bad Batch’ would be available on Disney+ on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Unfortunately, it appears that season 2 of ‘The Bad Batch’ has been postponed.
Disney recently announced everything coming to Disney+ in September, and one notable exclusion was season 2 of ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch.’ This appears to imply that the series has been delayed, but there has been no official word from Disney.
Because Disney+ Day is just around the corner, it’s possible that the series will be released as a surprise, but we think the possibilities are minimal.
It’s possible that we’ll learn more about ‘The Bad Batch’ season 2 on Disney+ or at D23. We’ll make sure to update this post whenever we receive official word.
Season 2 of the Bad Batch Can Explain the Origins of Inquisitors!
Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch could provide an inside look at the development of the Inquisitors from a different perspective than Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch began with the execution of Order 66, but Season 1 avoided including the Jedi and the Force in order to weave a story about how the Empire’s ascension affected the rest of the Star Wars galaxy. However, the Jedi may return to the saga of Clone Force 99 in Season 2.
The Bad Batch Season 2 advertising material features a Jedi padawan named Gungi, hinting at potential Jedi involvement in the Disney+ series. The crew will most likely assist Gungi in escaping the Empire, allowing the season to depict the birth of the Path, a group dedicated to assisting Jedi and Force-sensitive persons in escaping the Empire.
Gungi’s presence, on the other hand, may indicate that the series will also go into the dark side. During the Empire’s reign, most Jedi and Force-sensitive people were hunted down and slaughtered, while some were chosen to become Inquisitors and tortured until they were loyal to the Empire.
Because of the character of Crosshair, who works for the Empire, The Bad Batch is ideally equipped to provide a fresh viewpoint on this rise.
On Reddit and Twitter, Bad Batch Season 2 Spoilers Have Surfaced.
However, a specific release date was still unknown. However, to everyone’s surprise, just a few days after the release of this trailer, Disney Plus announced the launch date for season 2. Disney indicated that the season would be released on September 28. This will be released in the early fall.
As many folks had predicted. However, some further information regarding the release was made available to enthusiasts. Those who saw Season 1 last year may recall that the episodes were released on a weekly basis. There were 16 in all, with one available on Disney Plus every Monday until August 13.
The Bad Batch Season 2 Cast: Who is in This Particular Season?
All of the primary characters from the previous season are anticipated to return, and based on the rest of the cast, the following can be predicted:
- Dee Bradley Baker as The Batch and the rest of the clones
- Michelle Ang as Omega
- Rhea Perlman as Cid
- Noshir Dalal as Vice Admiral Rampart
- Gwendoline Yeo as Nala Se
- Stephen Stanton as Admiral Tarkin
- Ben Diskin as AZI-3
The Bad Batch Season 2 plot:
The season one finale left off with two significant loose ends. After rescuing Omega, Crosshair again departs from the group while insisting that he has taken out his inhibitor chip. His loyalty to the Empire and dispute with Hunter were still present now, and they weren’t going away any time soon.
The second plot involves Nala Se and the Empire’s cloning program. She is taken to a facility where researchers are dressed in attire resembling those of Moff Gideon’s subordinates in The Mandalorian. It appears that Palpatine’s cloning plans for the sequel trilogy may tie in with what’s going on in The Bad Batch and the plan to clone Grogu.
Expect a lot of drama. According to the appearances of Darth Vader, Ahsoka Tano, and Darth Maul in The Clone Wars and Rebels, the effects on the larger canon may be significant.
Is There a Trailer for Bad Batch Season 2?
On Sunday, May 29, at Star Wars Celebration 2022, the “Bad Batch” Season 2 trailer debuted and was soon made available online. Hunter and Cid argue at the beginning of the scene.
Cid disagrees with Hunter’s assertion that the Bad Batch are free from their previous servitude. They aren’t exactly as free as they believed since the Empire is after them.
The Bad Batch will go to a number of new places, including an underwater planet home to enormous animals resembling crabs, as shown in the teaser. A few of the new and returning characters are also hinted at. Both Gungi, the Wookie Jedi, and Commander Cody (Dee Bradley Baker) will play a role in the narrative. Both individuals had significant roles in the “Clone Wars” TV series.
