We’ve entered a new normal. Dr. Jen Armstrong of Real Housewives of Orange County and her estranged husband Ryne Holliday want to keep their family together despite their breakup, according to a statement released to Us Weekly by Armstrong’s representative. “Ryne and I are taking some time apart to focus on ourselves and our children,” the rep said.
While our hearts are broken, we believe that by coming together in this time of loss, we may become even stronger as a family. Please be patient with us while we learn to live anew. She filed for legal and physical custody of the couple’s three children, twins Vince and Vera, age 10, and Robert, age 9, with visitation rights for Holliday. The couple, who had been married for almost eight years, announced their separation on September 8, 2021, citing “irreconcilable disagreements” as the reason.
The cosmetic doctor is a divorcee. Armstrong, who has three children with Holliday, 42, including 10-year-old twins Cece and Vince and 9-year-old boy Valor Robert, is asking for legal and physical custody, with visitation rights for the stay-at-home dad and company owner.
After their marital problems were documented on Season 16 of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” Armstrong told Page Six in February, “I’m simply going, to be honest. Separation was inevitable. We ended things and went our separate ways,” she stated.

Armstrong elaborated, saying that while she and Holliday “truly went into it not believing that we were going to get back together,” they now have hope for their relationship.
“Ryne came back and he was extremely honest and very sweet and has been lovely,” she said. Saying, “That’s the one [I fell in love with]. A partner like that is a must-have for me. We’re starting fresh and believe our new house can help us strengthen our family and marriage, she said. Armstrong hinted that Holliday would be excluded from her next move while chatting to Andy Cohen at the April “Orange County” reunion.
Armstrong previously stated that she and Holliday had reconciled and were doing “fine,” but an insider told E! In the months afterward, “Jen has been trying to tackle some communication issues she and Ryne have been suffering with for quite some time,” according to the media.
“After being unable to overcome these issues,” the source continued, “Jen recently decided it was best to move forward as co-parents, rather than husband and wife. Their kids have always and will continue to be their priority as they learn to live separately.”The insider also provided insight into the role RHOC might have played in the split, as season 16—which marked Armstrong’s debut as a Housewife—documented some of her and Holliday’s marital problems.
Confirmed Their Breakup
The insider added, “While Real Housewives of O.C. did not contribute to any conflicts between Jen and Ryne, it did compel them to study how they interact with one other. “In the future, the exes intend to handle their divorce “as non-emotionally as possible,” according to another source quoted by E! News.
“Although they are disappointed, they realize that this is for the best at the present time.” An informant claims that Armstrong and Holliday will continue seeing one other in therapy. Reruns of The Real Housewives of Orange County can be seen on Peacock if you want to catch up.
