New Jersey Police Investigate the Fatal Shooting of an Amityville Man

Meanwhile, the funeral for a Long Island man who was murdered at a New Jersey apartment complex last month is scheduled for this coming weekend.

Jacques McDonald, 25, of Amityville, was shot in the head on November 26 in the 900 block of Boulevard behind the Bookchester Apartments in New Milford, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

A prosecutor stated that an hour after the initial contact, McDonald was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center in traumatic arrest, where he was declared dead shortly after 8 p.m.

The specifics of the incident surrounding the shooting have not been made public by the investigators. The shooter was not described in any way.

In addition to the detectives from Musella’s Major Crimes Unit and the New Milford Police Department, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification, which collected evidence, and the county medical examiner are working together to solve the murder.
