Charging a Local Woman With Stealing $146k From Her Former Employer

According to the authorities, a woman from Monmouth County has been charged with stealing more than $146,000 from her previous place of employment.

Jodi L. Vanaman, age 47, from Neptune Township, was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking in the second degree.

Between the years of 2016 and 2021, Vanaman was employed by All Coast Service, a heating and air conditioning company with headquarters in Neptune City, and served in the capacity of office manager there.

Over the course of around five years, the police claim that Vanaman made a large number of fraudulent purchases using the credit cards and operational accounts belonging to the company.

The stolen money, according to the police, was spent on her own personal needs.

On December 6, Vanaman presented herself to authorities in order to face charges. She was given a summons complaint to read pending the upcoming procedures that will take place in the Superior Court of Monmouth County.

As a result of the criminal allegations she is facing, Vanaman could be sentenced to up to ten years in state prison.

In spite of these allegations, every defendant is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until he or she is found guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt after a trial in which the defendant is provided with all of the trial rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America and state law.
