Charlotte of Mecklenburg-strelitz: First Glimpse of Bridgerton Spin-off Features Queen Charlotte and King George!

Bridgerton’s Queen Charlotte is not a helpless victim, as no one would dare to suggest.

The first scene from the spin-off Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, however, shows that she is a formidable opponent. An image of India Amarteifio (Sex Education) in the role of a young Queen Charlotte surfaced online yesterday, and today, during Netflix’s TUDUM fan event, the streaming service released the first video from the upcoming series.

Below is a clip in which Charlotte, frustrated by the attentions of a dashing young man (Corey Mylchreest), tries to escape the palace by climbing a garden wall. She says no one will talk about the king, so she thinks he must be a monster or a troll, but then she realizes that the man in question is the one in front of her.

When the spin-off was first announced last year, it was noted that Shonda Rhimes would be running and writing it. Golda Rosheuvel, who portrays Queen Charlotte as an adult on the original Bridgerton, will also return for the spin-off, along with Adjoa Andoh, who plays Lady Danbury as an adult, Ruth Gemmell, who plays Violet Bridgerton, and Hugh Sachs, who plays Brimsley.
