When it premiered earlier this year on Apple TV+, Sharon Horgan’s latest comedy-drama Bad Sisters captivated audiences and critics with its dark and frequently comic alternate murder mystery.
The story centered on the five Garvey sisters, four of whom plotted to assassinate the scheming and despicable husband of the fifth in order to liberate her (and themselves) from him.
Based on the Belgian series Clan, the first season stars creator Sharon Horgan as one of the sisters Eva, with Anne-Marie Duff, Sarah Greene, Eva Birthistle, and Eve Hewson as the others. However, will they return for a second season?
Here is all you need to know about the second season of Bad Sisters on Apple TV+.
Is the Second Season of Bad Sisters Planned?
There shall be! The second season of Bad Sisters was officially confirmed by Apple TV+ on November 8, 2022, with creator and star Sharon Horgan stating: “Three years ago, if you had told me I’d be making a series about five murderous sisters chasing a man around Ireland in an attempt to kill him, I would have said, ‘That sounds about right.’
“The response to our performance far exceeded our expectations. It allowed us to shed light on stories that do not typically receive such a broad platform. I look forward to experiencing the chill of the Irish Sea once more.”
When Will the Second Season of Bad Sisters Premiere?
We do not yet know when season 2 of Bad Sisters will premiere, but the fact that it was renewed so quickly after the conclusion of season 1 offers us confidence that we won’t have to wait too long.
We anticipate that the earliest we could expect to see episodes is by the end of 2023, however, 2024 is more plausible. We will update this page with any new information.
Who Will Return to the Cast of Bad Sisters for Season Two?
We expect creator Sharon Horgan to reprise her role as Eva Garvey in season 2 of Bad Sisters unless the series is transformed into an anthology-style series with a different cast and premise for each season.
In fact, Horgan implied as much in her statement upon the show’s recommission, stating that she was “looking forward to getting chilly in the Irish Sea once again,” as her character did numerous times in season 1.
We would also anticipate Anne-Marie Duff, Sarah Greene, Eva Birthistle, and Eve Hewson to return as Eva’s sisters, thereby completing the major ensemble, as well as their respective boyfriends and children. Additionally, neighbors and friends such as Roger and Gabriel may return.
Given his friendship with Becka, Daryl McCormack’s Matthew Claffin might possibly return, which would also entail the return of Brian Gleeson’s Thomas Claffin and Seána Kerslake’s Theresa.
Claes Bang, who played Grace’s husband John Paul in season 1, is a prominent talent who we do not anticipate will return for season 2. John Paul died at the beginning of the season, and we learned through flashbacks that he was murdered by his wife Grace.
It is possible that he will appear in a flashback, but given their extensive use in the first season, we suspect that his time on the show has come to an end.
Here is a complete list of the returning cast members for the second season of Bad Sisters:
- Sharon Horgan as Eva Garvey
- Anne-Marie Duff in the role of Grace Williams
- Sarah Greene portraying Bibi Garvey
- Eva Birthistle in the role of Ursula Flynn
- Eve Hewson as Becka Garvey
- Brian Gleeson in the role of Thomas Claffin

Is There a Trailer for Season 2 of Bad Sisters?
The second season of Bad Sisters does not yet have a trailer, but we will update this page as soon as one becomes available.
You can currently rewatch the season 1 trailer right here.
What Will Bad Sisters Season 2 Be About?
In reality, it is quite difficult to say Because the first season of Bad Sisters told a self-contained story that appeared to conclude with episode 10. It was modeled on the Belgian series Clan, which told a complete story over the course of one season.
We do not yet know what the emphasis of season 2 will be, but it seems likely that the sisters will be involved in another fatal secret, rather than the aftermath of John Paul’s death, which has already been extensively explored.
