An officer’s pursuit of a suspect that ended in a violent collision in South Los Angeles resulted in the death of one victim.
In the early hours of Tuesday, the Gardena police department reported that officers were pursuing a person in a gray Dodge Charger who was speeding and failing to stop at red traffic signals.
When the suspect arrived in the Los Angeles region, the pursuit was called off by the police because it was no longer safe to continue.
The Los Angeles Police Department said that the suspect continued driving and struck other parked cars soon after 2:30 a.m. in the area of West 94th Street and Harvard Boulevard.
The incident occurred in the city of Los Angeles.
It appears that at least one other person was injured in addition to the driver of the vehicle that was giving chase, who was killed.
