New York State’s governor, Kathy Hochul, has announced that the state will receive 4 million in federal cash to expand food assistance for all SNAP participants in the state.
With this money, households in New York State who participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will get at least in additional benefits this month.
SNAP is sponsored by the federal government and helps low-income New Yorkers buy food.
