The 29-year-old lady was detained after it was discovered that she had registered as a student at a high school using false documents and had spent a total of four days there.
According to remarks made by the police to the website nj.com, Hyejeong Shin is suspected of providing a fake official document with the intent to verify someone’s identity or age.
Superintendent of the New Brunswick Public School District Aubrey Johnson announced Shin’s arrest during a board meeting on Tuesday.
According to Johnson in a video recording of the conversation, Shin attended some of her classes while attending New Brunswick High School, but most of her time was spent in guidance, where “we were trying to get more information from her.” NJ.com claims that Shin gave the school a fake birth certificate.
