New Jersey Residents Avoid Shocking Price Hikes in Heating Costs as Phil Murphy’s Electric Boiler Plan Backfires

In his quest to make New Jersey more environmentally friendly than the rest of the world, Governor Phil Murphy of New Jersey intended to make it mandatory for all commercial and public heating systems to be converted from gas and oil to electricity.

This Thursday, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection decided to shelve the proposal, which put an end to that idea.

According to Senator Bucco, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has decided not to move forward with a controversial and costly mandate that was proposed by Governor Murphy.

This mandate would have required the electrification of large commercial boilers by the year 2025. However, the NJDEP has decided not to move forward with this mandate.

“Governor Murphy’s plan to force the replacement of efficient, clean and cost-effective gas boilers with electric versions failed because it didn’t make any sense,” said Bucco.

“The plan to force the replacement of efficient, clean, and cost-effective gas boilers with electric versions short-circuited” (R-25).

According to his plan, thousands of companies, schools, apartment complexes, and government buildings would have been required to pay millions of dollars each to convert to electric boilers, which have an operating cost that is four times as high as the cost of the gas boilers that are currently in use.

It would have been an enormous expense that was completely unneeded for businesses as well as taxpayers.
