Aries Spears and Tiffany Haddish are accused of assaulting the plaintiffs sexually when they were both children in a civil action brought by a 22-year-old woman on behalf of herself and her younger brother in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The case, which was submitted under the pseudonyms “Jane Doe” and “John Doe” (the brother, who was born in 2007, is still a minor), claims that Haddish and Spears pressured the young plaintiffs into “filming sexually explicit child pornography skits” by grooming them. According to the plaintiffs, their mother introduced them to Haddish and Spears. Haddish is referred to as a “longtime family friend” in the lawsuit.

Haddish and Spears “took advantage and stole the youth of a 7-year-old child and a 14-year-old youngster,” the lawsuit claims.
Two distinct incidences of alleged sexual abuse of juveniles are highlighted in the case, both of which are alleged to have occurred in Los Angeles. In 2013, Jane Doe claims that the performers forced her to imitate fellatio for a film. The lawsuit claims that Haddish and Spears both appeared in the 2014 movie and that John Doe was forced to perform in a pornographic video while still in his underwear.
The “Through a Pedophile’s Eyes” video was posted online and on the comedic video website Funny Or Die.
A spokesman for the corporation told NPR that they “thought this video incredibly repugnant and would never produce such stuff.” “This video’s conception, creation, funding, or production was not a part of our efforts. It was added to the website as user-generated content and deleted in 2018 as soon as it was discovered.”
Haddish’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, dismissed the plaintiffs’ allegations against his client as “bogus” in a statement sent by email to NPR. According to Brettler, the mother of the plaintiffs has been attempting to discredit Haddish with these claims for a number of years.
“Every lawyer who initially took her case — and there were a number of them — ultimately dropped it once it was made obvious that the allegations were untrue and Ms. Haddish would not be blackmailed. She is being represented in court by her adult daughter. The results of doing this foolish move will be something that they both have to deal with.”
He isn’t going to fall for any shakedown, said Spears’ attorney Debra Opri in response to NPR’s request for comment regarding her client’s response to the charges.
The plaintiff stated that Haddish’s lawyer, Brettler, “made his career” on representing celebrities involved in sexual abuse cases in an email supplied to NPR by “Jane Doe.” “We are not shocked that Mr. Brettler would seek to shift the blame and focus to our mother who is not a party to this case in order to divert attention away from the valid claims made by my brother and me,” the statement continued.
In addition to the legal action that was filed this week, Jane Doe stated that she and her brother are urging the Los Angeles Police Department to prosecute the celebrities for a crime. We are hoping that the LAPD will finally take action and detain Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears right away.
