The Prosecutor Claims That a Jcpd Officer Let a Suspect Known to Police Stay in Her Home

JERSEY CITY, NJ – On Wednesday, an officer from the Jersey City Police Department was taken into custody by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internal Affairs Unit.

The officer is being charged with knowingly hindering the apprehension of an individual who is wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in Jersey City.

Page Rivera, 34, is accused of knowingly allowing a guy who she knew was a suspect in connection with a shooting that took place in Jersey City on February 10 to stay at her home.

The incident occurred on Friday, and Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez made the accusation in a statement.

On February 17, the suspect in question, who was wanted on allegations that included Attempted Murder and several offenses involving weapons, was taken into custody at the residence of Rivera.

Rivera was processed and then freed after the arrest; his next court date is scheduled on March 15.
