The Gahr High School campus was evacuated on Monday, February 27, after a man was discovered dead nearby from a gunshot wound.
CERRITOS, California – U.S. Officials reported that a homicide investigation that was taking place adjacent to Gahr High School in Cerritos caused the school to be closed on Monday.
A call about a victim of gunshot wounds was received by deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department just before 2:00 a.m., and they were dispatched to an area close to the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Studebaker Road in the vicinity of the intersection.

At their arrival, the responding deputies discovered a man inside a vehicle who had been shot in the upper portion of his body. He was pronounced dead at the hospital after being transported there by emergency medical personnel.
According to the investigators, there were three additional individuals inside the vehicle, and none of them were hurt.
They reported to the authorities that the incident took place in the lanes of Artesia Boulevard heading westbound near the 605 Freeway.
On Monday, February 27, an investigation into a killing was being conducted in Cerritos. Officials from the ABC Unified School District stated that they anticipate the school would completely reopen on Tuesday.
