Teenage Girl Plays Jesus for NJ School’s Carrying of The Cross

One New Jersey school’s annual carrying of the cross through Denville was done for the first time by a girl.

The Christian Drama School of New Jersey says that 15-year-old Maddie Harmon was the only person to play Jesus and carry the heavy 12-foot cross for more than two miles.

The school says that this year there just weren’t any male students who could do it.

Rev. Kim Padfield-Urbanik said, “Maddie is not only a great actress, but she is also tall and strong enough to carry the cross.” “She is who she says she is. She is honest and valuable, and she can really act like Jesus.”

Maddie didn’t have to carry the cross by herself; her friends helped her.

This ceremony is being held by the school for the 23rd time.
