WINS (1010) — TRENTON, NJ It has been confirmed by the governor’s office that New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s minor surgery on Wednesday went smoothly.
As of Wednesday night, Murphy, 65, had been discharged from the hospital following surgery and was resting comfortably in his own home.

A representative for Murphy told NJ.

The governor’s office has not said what the surgery was for, but they have stressed that it was not elective.
They also said the surgery had nothing to do with the cancerous kidney tumour he had removed in 2020.
He was put under anaesthesia for the procedure, and Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver served as acting governor during that time.
