An update has been made available on the shooting of a woman and her dog over the holiday weekend in Anne Arundel County.
Reports of gunfire brought police to the 5000 block of Ritchie Highway near 11th Avenue in Brooklyn Park at around 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 15.
Anne Arundel County police said the victim, a lady whose identity has not been revealed, was among a group of people when an assailant dressed in all black opened fire.
A stray gunshot injured the woman once in the leg and killed her dog. A further two vehicles were struck by missiles, according to a police spokesperson.

Following the incident, both the woman and her dog were rushed to hospitals for treatment. The prognosis for both is good.
