Profit and Loss Statement: Teacher Signing Bonuses, Offshore Wind Resistance, and Child Tax Credits

On Tuesday, New Jersey Policy Perspective called for extra help for New Jersey families hit by inflation’s mounting prices. It published a paper supporting the expansion of a state tax credit for families with children that was passed in the summer of 2016.

Eligible families can earn up to $500 for each kid younger than six years old. The New Jersey Policy Perspective suggests increasing the tax credit for children under six to $1,000 and making it available to youngsters between the ages of 6 and 11.

More than 440,000 New Jersey families would benefit from the increased credit, according to New Jersey Policy Perspective.

In the past, federal officials have stated that there is no proof linking offshore wind farms to whale extinctions.

A district’s effort to hire additional educators has proven successful so far. Offering $7,500 signing incentives, Paterson has hired 149 new educators in the previous four months. The district is still offering the signing bonus and has 152 more positions to fill.

Not only does the Paterson school system in New Jersey give signing bonuses, but so do many others. Teachers in high-need subjects like math and science were awarded bonuses by the Newark school district last year.
