Police in New Jersey Claim They Stopped Three People in a Stolen Car Who Then Made a Hoax Bomb Threat at a Shopping Centre.

According to Wayne Police, three suspects were apprehended after making a hoax bomb threat while driving a stolen vehicle near Willowbrook Mall.

A patrolling police officer on Friday afternoon saw a Honda Accord bearing what seemed to be a fraudulent New Jersey temporary registration.

The police say he pulled over near the mall’s sports bar, Yard House.

A 911 call came in from a cell phone just as the officer was verifying the Honda’s registration in Wayne.

A bomb threat was made in Macy’s at the Willowbrook Mall by a lady who pleaded for immediate police action.

The police quickly determined that the call originated in the front parking lot of Willowbrook Mall, close to Yard House and that it was likely an attempt to distract them.

The phone number checked out to be that of the owner of the stolen Honda Accord that had been stopped.

A security scan of Macy’s confirmed that the bomb threat was unfounded, and all three people in the automobile were taken into custody.

Shaquanda White, 30, of East Orange, was charged with theft, making a false public alarm, and improper use of the 911 system.

East Orange native Cristal Rennie, 29, was also charged with theft-related offenses.

Detention hearings for White, Rennie, and Wilson were all scheduled to take place in the Passaic County jail.
