A man from Passaic, New Jersey was detained on various offenses, including luring and lewdness, by police in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.
According to Lieutenant John A. Behr of the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, an 18-year-old local woman came into the station on Friday, February 17 to report a suspicious event.
She reported being followed by a man in a white Honda Accord who made sexual comments and asked her to get into his car when she was out walking her dog.
The guy eventually pulled over, got out of his car, and went up to the woman, at which point he started making lewd comments and showing her pornographic photos. He followed the victim to his car, from which he drove away shortly thereafter.
As soon as word got out, detectives from the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department began canvassing the area, and they were able to identify the culprit and collect camera footage of the vehicle.
After the suspect and his car were identified, detectives and patrol officers spent the day and night searching Passaic, New Jersey, for him.
Clifton police arrested 24-year-old Passaic resident Runaldo Miliano-Almonte on suspicion of murder on Monday, February 27. The defendant is facing allegations of Lewdness (a D.P.O. ), Third Degree Luring, and Fourth Degree Stalking.
Clifton police picked up the suspect and brought him to the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, where he was booked and then remanded to the Bergen County Prison.
According to Behr, the Hasbrouck Heights police appreciate the help of the Bergen County Prosecutors Office Intel Unit and the Clifton police.
