A Burlington County man, 43, has been charged with first-degree aggravated assault for allegedly critically injuring his mother earlier this week by beating her with a landscaping rock.
When Lawrence Y. Kim, of Marlton, was first arrested, he was accused of,
- Assault in the Second Degree
- Unlawful weapon possession (third-degree)
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree
The Evesham Township Police Department has announced that Kim has been charged with attempted murder in the first degree.

The incident occurred at a residence on Woodlake Drive in Marlton on January 16th.
In that location, police discovered a 75-year-old woman who had been severely injured in the head and was unresponsive. She was taken there and was last seen in critical but stable condition.
Kim, the son, was reportedly apprehended by police in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
