Officials Say an Urgent Care Physician Inappropriately Touched Patients in Three New Jersey Counties.

Officials have charged a physician with criminal sexual contact in three New Jersey counties for inappropriately touching patients.

On March 8, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office indicted Gurvindra Johal for inappropriate contact with two patients under his care at a Newark urgent care centre on Broad Street.

The 55-year-old Colonia resident was arrested and charged with criminal sexual contact and sexual assault on March 2 by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office for allegedly forcing one patient to have sex with him and groping another at an urgent care centre in Perth Amboy.

Officials say that Johal is also charged in Monmouth County for committing criminal sexual contact at a Freehold urgent care centre.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office stated in its announcement of charges that the investigation into Johal is active and ongoing. Call 1-877-TIPS-4EC if you have any information.
