New Jersey State Police Task Force One Has Arrived in New York to Aid in the Cleanup Efforts Following the Recent Snowstorm.

A squad of rescuers from New Jersey has responded to a need for assistance from New York officials after a snowstorm dumped several feet of snow upstate.

As the death toll grows and hundreds continue to be without electricity, President Biden has ordered a state of emergency.

New Jersey State Police Task Force One, which includes twenty-two officers, landed in the Buffalo area on Tuesday morning.

On Monday night, the teams set out with rescue gear, snowmobiles, and ATVs.
Extremely low temperatures combined with four feet of snow made it nearly impossible for emergency responders to reach individuals in need.

Death toll from Buffalo, New York storm rises to 29. And because officials are worried that number will only rise, President Biden has dispatched aid.

Forklift operators are currently working to remove trapped vehicles from roads that remain inaccessible.

Team program manager Kevin Morrissey leads the effort. The goal, he explains, is to assist in any way possible.

“Capable of driving in the snow thanks to its six-wheel drive. Like a Swiss army knife, we’re ready to evacuate, rescue, and transport individuals (including the sick and injured) “To quote Morrissey: “no matter what obstacles they throw at us, we will overcome them.”
