CAPE TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) — MAY, N.J. On Monday, the U.S. Coast Guard announced that a sailboat carrying two men disappeared while en route from New Jersey to Florida. A manhunt has begun in North Carolina for two missing men.
Kevin Hyde, 64, and Joe DiTommaso, 76, are still missing, and the Coast Guard is making every effort to find them.
It has been reported that the two men have not been heard from since December 3rd. The pair had set out from Cape May, New Jersey, bound for Orlando, Florida. They were last spotted in North Carolina’s Oregon Inlet, according to the Coast Guard.

It’s been nearly a week since they’ve heard from anyone. When the Atrevida II set sail, Hyde and DiTommasso were both on board. The New Jersey-flagged sailboat was 30 feet long, with a bluish-purple hull and white decks, spars, and sails.
A Coast Guard Cutter and several C130s are out searching all hours of the day and night.
