CITY OF NEW JERSEY — On Sunday afternoon, the proprietor of a jewellery store reported to police that his store had been robbed of over $500,000 worth of cash and jewellery. The proprietor told police that he had no insurance on the stolen property.

Waheed Akbary, the store’s owner, told ABC 7 Eyewitness News that the robbers forced three employees and five customers to the ground before stealing 0,000 worth of jewels.
A child of about three years old was among the clients.
One of the burglars allegedly threatened to shoot Akbary’s working wife if she didn’t open the safe. The robbers assumed another worker had pressed a “panic button” to notify the police, so they threatened her with a knife.

Waheed Akbary said the criminals cleaned him out in two minutes and put the jewels into black bags during the theft, which was seen on camera by a store across the street.
It was a complete and utter financial disaster. Despite repeated jewellery store robberies, Waheed Akbary said he did not insure any of his products.
