In New Jersey, an Arrest Warrant for the Convicted Murderer’s Involvement in Three Additional Murders Was Recently Served on Him in Prison.

This Thursday, New Jersey authorities handed Sean Lannon with a New Mexico arrest warrant for his 2021 murder of four persons.

According to court filings, Lannon, who is at the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Burlington County, was served a warrant for three of the four New Mexico murders.

Last year, Lannon, 48, of Grants, New Mexico, pled guilty to first-degree murder for killing his childhood mentor Michael Dabkowski in New Jersey in 2021. Last month, he received a 35-year sentence.

New Mexico prosecutors seek to try him for crimes he committed there before killing 66-year-old Dabkowski in New Jersey.

In January 2021, Lannon allegedly shot and killed Jennifer in Grants, New Mexico. He is also accused of murdering Jesten Mata and Matthew Miller, two acquaintances he lured to his house on dates.

Lannon and his wife met in South Jersey and came to New Mexico with their children several years ago for work.

New Mexico sent a notice to the New Jersey Department of Corrections to bring Lannon to trial.

New Mexico posted a wanted person notice for Sean Lannon, who is in 10-day quarantine at Garden State Youth Correctional Facility, state Department of Corrections spokeswoman Amy Z. Quinn said Thursday.

Quinn stated Lannon is quarantined for COVID-19.

“After quarantine, he will move to his housing assignment and the extradition process may begin,” she said.

Quinn acknowledged there has been no extradition request for Lannon to New Mexico.

New Mexico authorities investigating the three Grants homicides issued an arrest warrant.

Lannon allegedly hid the remains of his estranged wife, Mata, and Miller in crates and transferred them 80 miles to Albuquerque, where he killed a fourth victim, Randall Apostalon.

In March 2021, police uncovered all four dead in Apostalon’s pickup truck at an Albuquerque airport and discovered Lannon had flown to the East Coast with his three kids a day earlier.

He left the kids with family in New Jersey before traveling to East Greenwich Township to meet Dabkowski on March 8, authorities said.

In the 1980s Big Brothers Big Sisters, Dabkowski met Lannon and his twin brother. Authorities alleged Lannon went to the house to acquire images of Dabkowski molesting him as a youngster following his detention. No judicial evidence supported Lannon’s accusations.

Lannon faces three counts of first-degree murder and six counts of tampering with evidence in Grant’s death. The updated complaint in the Mata and Miller cases from November 2018 did not include kidnapping to commit murder charges from 2021.

Quinn said the request to extradite Lannon from New Jersey to New Mexico may take at least 45 days.

The New Mexico district attorney’s office handling the Grants cases’ spokeswoman, Jessica Martinez, said Thursday that officials are working with Albuquerque on Lannon’s extradition.

Lannon’s New Jersey and New Mexico sentences are yet unknown.

Investigators said Lannon confessed to all five murders after his March 10, 2021, arrest in St. Louis.

As with the Dabkowski case, he claimed motives for each homicide, but no proof has been offered to back his New Mexico assertions.
