Funds Raised by Family and Friends of Man Shot by Police in South Jersey

After a man was shot and killed by police, his loved ones are trying to raise money to cover funeral costs.

In this GoFundMe page, Daniel E. Nevius Sr., known as “Pop,” of Sicklerville, is referred to as “the glue to our family.”

“Without thinking twice, he would help anyone in need. He was driven by a desire to aid others, even when he was unable to assist himself “Daniel, his son, wrote it. “In his efforts to aid others, he often found himself in deeper problems.”

The state Attorney General’s office is looking into reports that police officers contacted Nevius on Fox Run Road in Deptford Township around 1:22 p.m. on Sunday, January 22. That’s how it always works when cops are engaged in a shooting.

Police said that Nevius was shot by Officer Luke Ivey of the Deptford Police Department. Officials at the scene ruled Nevius dead.

No further information has been shared by the authorities.
