Fire Force Season 3: Will There Be a Season 3 for Fire Force?

After a series of leaks last month, it has finally been confirmed that the third season of the popular anime series Fire Force will air.

The global anime community enjoys nothing more than loving, sharing, and discussing the most recent theories and leaks on their favorite shows.

The discussion surrounding leaks is centered on social media, particularly Twitter, where both true spoilers and bogus news may fast spread to followers around the world.

Last month, a well-known leaker reported that the Fire Force anime was once again in development; happily, the Japanese production company behind the series has recently confirmed this information.

Official Confirmation of Fire Force Season 3

On May 17th, the third season of Fire Force was officially announced. Alongside the domestic website, the series’ Japanese Twitter profile claimed that a third season was “already in production.”

Fans of the anime series have been sure for some time that this news was imminent due to multiple leaks that occurred last month.

Popular and typically-reliable Twitter leaker and insider SugoiLITE announced on April 29 that “‘Fire Force’ (Enen no Shouboutai) TV Anime Season 3 is currently in development.”

The good news was that Fire Force’s comeback was virtually assured, as anime renewals are typically influenced by two factors: popularity and source material.

Fire Force is a wildly popular series among fans, but don’t take our word for it. Fire Force is currently rated 7.6/10 on IMDB, 83 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, 4.1/5 on Crunchyroll, and 7.69/10 and 7.78/10 for both seasons on MyAnimeList, with a total of 890,000 reviews.

Even though these numbers have little bearing on the Japanese performance, which is likely a more crucial renewal element than foreign success, they do imply that Fire Force was successful enough to warrant a third anime season.

There is also sufficient source material to make a third season of the anime. According to Anime Geek (previously Monsters & Critics), the original manga was adapted till about volume 20 chapter 174.

The good news is that a total of 304 chapters across 34 volumes have been released in Japan, with the series has reached its conclusion earlier this year after an incredible six years of serialization.

As each season of Fire Force has adapted approximately 10 volumes of the manga, there is sufficient source material for at least one more full season of the anime, and possibly two if manga content can be stretched.

When Will Season 3 of Fire Force Premiere?

Fans were thrilled to hear that the anime will return for a third season, although a release date for Fire Force season 3 has not yet been announced. However, we might make some guesses based on the development timetable and prior seasons of Fire Force’s company, David Productions.

Season 1 was announced in November 2018 and debuted in July 2019, while season 2 will be unveiled in December 2019 and premiere in July 2020, with a 7 to 8-month animation duration.

Based on this production cycle, many fans may have anticipated that the anime will resume in April 2022 as part of the Spring broadcast schedule. However, the dearth of formal information on season 3 is likely due to David Production’s busy schedule.

The studio has been hard at work on Strike Witches: Road to Berlin, 2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team, and Cells at Work!! since the conclusion of the second season of Fire Force in 2020.

However, the studio is working on creating a 52-episode adaptation of the Urusei Yatsura series, which is scheduled for a four-season airing later this year. Under the assumption that this series is David Production’s primary emphasis, viewers can anticipate the premiere of Fire Force season 3 in either October 2022 (optimistic) or January 2023 (more likely).

Who is in the Third Season Cast of Fire Force?

The official cast member for Season 3 of “Fire Force” has not yet been determined. Based on the continuity behind the scenes of the first two seasons, it is expected that the majority of the actors will return for the third season.

A few new characters such as Ogun Montgomery, portrayed by Makoto Furukawa (Japanese) and Zeno Robinson (English), and Scop, voiced by Kentaro Ito (Japanese) and Tyler Walker, were the only additions to the cast (English). Shinra should continue to be voiced by Gakuto Kajiwara (Japanese) and Derick Snow (English), among others (Via Anime News Network).

Season 3 should be animated by the same studio, David Production, as the previous two seasons. Tatsuma Minamikawa replaced Yuki Yase as the director of “Fire Force” Season 2. Minamikawa will presumably return as director for season 3, along with Kazuhiro Miwa as a chief animator and Kenichiro Suehiro as a composer, unless otherwise specified.

What’s the Third Season of Fire Force’s Story?

There is currently no clear plot information for Season 3 of “Fire Force.” The anime has mostly followed the manga, so we can probably predict what Shinra’s third season will include. Season 1 of the anime covered volumes 1 through a portion of volume 11, while Season 2 covered volumes 11 through a portion of book 20.

Unless the anime series enters filler territory like “Naruto” or “Bleach,” Season 3 might adapt up to volume 20 of the manga if the manga is actually at its conclusion, unless it follows the “Naruto” or “Bleach” formula.

The conclusion of Season 2 suggested that Company 8 and the Evangelists will engage in a conflict of even greater scale in the future. Shinra was pushed in his training to reach a new threshold known as “The Press Of Death” so that he could face the Company’s increasingly formidable adversaries.

In addition, Company 4’s Captain Hague was assassinated in the season finale, dealing a devastating blow to the heroes. Shinra is, however, able to establish an Adolla Link, allowing him to witness Hague’s final moments due to his new level of skill. Company 8 will likely join forces with the Tokyo Empire in Season 3 to combat the Evangelist’s formidable soldiers.
