On December 27, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, William Scott Goldberg was given the name Bill Goldberg. His father worked as an obstetrician and gynecologist, while his mother was a prize-winning orchid breeder and a classical violinist. His brother is the manager of a nightclub in Aspen, Colorado.
He was a Tulsa native who graduated from Tulsa Edison High School. He was brought up in the Jewish faith and upheld it as an adult. He has Romanian and Russian ancestry. When he was sixteen, he became interested in football and started participating in school games. He was a defensive tackle for the squad and received a scholarship offer to play football at the University of Georgia after graduating.
They inducted him into the Junkyard Dog Club, which is exclusively for the top defensive players because he was a star player for the squad. He was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the eleventh round of the 1990 NFL Draft, but the organization released him when he didn’t make the team out of training camp.
