According to the authorities, a male aged 19 has been charged with raping and sexually assaulting a youngster on multiple occasions in both the state of New York and at the Jersey Shore.
Following an investigation by both local officials and the New York State Police, Jon Edward Pelican, who is a resident of Monroe, New York, was taken into custody on November 29.
According to a press release issued by the New York State Police, Pelcin perpetrated the sexual assaults “over the course of a number of years in a variety of locations around the Hudson Valley and at the Jersey Shore,” more notably on Long Beach Island.
According to a release issued by the State Police on December 1, Pelcin was charged with rape in the first degree, unlawful confinement, and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to the records, he was initially taken into custody at the Orange County Jail, but on Wednesday, December 7, he was moved to the Bergen County Jail to face separate stalking allegations originating from the city of Mahwah.
Along with the police department in Monroe, New York, and the forensics unit of the New York State Police, the following agencies also assisted in the investigation of the rape: the Orange County Child Advocacy Center, the Orange County (New York) District Attorney’s Office, the Ocean County (New Jersey) Prosecutor’s Office, and the Long Beach Police Department.
