An employee at a Manhattan cigarette store was apparently wounded in the back during an attempted robbery, and now police say that a would-be burglar has opened fire on a worker at a Dollar Tree in Brooklyn.
Around 8:40 p.m. on Van Sinderen Avenue, next to New Lots Avenue, in East New York, a male employee was shot once in the left leg inside the store. The announcement was made on Wednesday, sources said.

According to police, the shooter ran away and was still at large on Thursday while dressed in camouflage.
A worker at a Lower East Side tobacco store was shot in what police believe was an attempted robbery just hours before this incident.
Three individuals, one of whom opened fire, entered Exotic Convenience on Clinton Street at approximately 6:40 p.m., injuring an employee in the lower back, according to police.
